OFFICIAL CONTEST RULES


NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN.  A PURCHASE WILL NOT INCREASE YOUR CHANCE OF WINNING.  VOID WHERE PROHIBITED.

1. HOW TO ENTER

a. The Outlaw contest will begin on Monday, April 7th, 2008 at 8:30 am PT and end at which point The 100.5 The Zone $25,000 Outlaw (“The Outlaw”) is correctly identified and asked the correct question, at which point the winner will be designated.  In the event that The Outlaw has not been found by May 9th, 2008 at 5:30 pm, the contest will end with no winner.

b. To participate in the contest, you may enter via the following method(s): Listen to KZZO (“Station”) weekdays during the Contest Period between 7:00 am and 6:00 pm PT for the on-air talent to announce the clue of the day. Listeners will then try to figure the Outlaw’s location. At least one clue will be given out each day during the specific hours and can be used together to help the listeners determine where they might find the Outlaw at any given time or day.  Some days an additional Clue may be given between the specific hours. Bonus Clues may also be hidden on the www.radiozone.com website. After the first clue is given the listeners should use the clues to help determine when and where they may locate The Outlaw. The contest cannot be won outside of the designated operation hours. Monday through Friday, from 7am to 7pm.

c. The Outlaw will only be in public places. Listeners should not trespass or engage in any other illegal activity while attempting to locate the Outlaw.

d. If listener thinks they have found the Outlaw at a location, they must ask the person these specific words: “Are you The 100.5 The Zone Twenty Five Thousand Dollar Outlaw?”

e. The odds of winner depend on the number of eligible entries received. There is no limit to the number of times a listener may attempt to ask the Outlaw the correct question.

2. ELIGIBILITY RESTRICTIONS

a. The contest is open to all KZZO listeners who are 18 years of age or older and who legally reside in the greater Sacramento Area.  Employees of KZZO (the “Station”), Sacramento Credit Union, its licensee, its corporate parents, subsidiaries, and affiliates, its advertising agencies, participating sponsors/promotional partners, other radio stations in the Sacramento metropolitan area and the members of their immediate families or households are ineligible to participate or win.

b. Listeners are eligible to win a Station contest only once every thirty days and a prize valued at $600 or more only once every six months. Only one winner per household is permitted in any Contest administered by the Station.

c. To participate in this contest listener must hold a valid drivers license.

3. PRIZES

a. One Prize may be awarded: The prize consists of (1) Free Rewards Checking account at Sacramento Credit Union with an initial balance of $25,000 to be provided by Sacramento Credit Union.  Sacramento Credit Union will also provide the $25 account initiation payment and waive the $5 member fee.  All funds in the account will be immediately accessible as the winner may withdraw all $25,000 from the Free Rewards Checking account and close the account upon receipt without penalty.

b. All prizes or prize certificates may be picked up at the office of the Station at the address below.  The winner will forfeit any prize or prize certificate not claimed by 5:30 pm PT 30 days after the date that the winner was designated. In the event that a prize or prize certificate is mailed to the winner, it will be with the prior written consent of the winner and therefore, winner assumes the risk of its loss.  The Station is not responsible for the safe arrival of a prize or prize certificate. 

c. There is no substitution, transfer, or cash equivalent for prizes, except that Sponsor may, at its sole discretion, substitute prizes of comparable value or cash.  The prizes are expressly limited to the item(s) listed above and do not include taxes, gratuities or any other expenses.  Other restrictions may apply.

4. WINNER SELECTION AND NOTIFICATION

a. Decisions of the Station management with respect to the contest are final.

b. Listener must repeat these exact words “Are you The 100.5 The Zone $25,000 Outlaw?” to the correct individual in order to be pronounced the winner.  The real ”Outlaw”  will never respond “Yes” or even say anything, s/he will just hand over a letter on station letterhead with instructions on how to claim the prize

c. The person representing the 100.5 The Zone $25,000 Outlaw may not be approached in a private, residential home, or while in or on some vehicle of transportation. The Outlaw must be approached while he/she is on foot and in a public place.

d. The person representing the "Outlaw" will be actively participating in the contest from 7am to 7pm beginning Monday, April 7th, 2008, and ending when the Outlaw has been identified. Once the prize has been claimed the contest will be immediately discontinued.

e. The 100.5 The Zone $25,000 Outlaw will be easy to access and/or approach. Any one participant found searching on private land, or using private land to access or gain unfair advantage to The 100.5 The Zone $25,000 Outlaw, may be immediately disqualified. Anyone participating in the contest must follow the rules of the contest, as well as all of the state, local, and federal laws, rules and regulations of all locations where they seek out the Outlaw.

f. No destruction of private or public property is necessary to find the Outlaw. No risk-taking is required to locate the Outlaw.

g. At periodic intervals clues be announced on-air about the Outlaw is wearing and/or a physical description of his/her appearance.  Note that only the Outlaw’s general location will be identified, e.g. a city or suburban area.  Contestants will not be directed to any specific locations. 

h. In the event of a tie, duplicate claims, or multiple persons claiming to be the winner, a final and binding decision will be made by KZZO, which reserves the right to hold a random drawing in such event to determine the winner.

i. Winners must execute and return any required Affidavit of Eligibility/Release of Liability Prize Acceptance Form by June 1st, 2008 at 5:30 pm PT or prize will be forfeited and an alternate winner will not be chosen.

5. CONDITIONS

a. KZZO does not guarantee the safety of participants in this contest. By participating, contestants agree that KZZO as well as its parent corporations, affiliated companies and the officers, shareholders, directors, employees, agents and representatives will have no liability whatsoever for any injuries, losses, or damages of any kind suffered by participants, as a result in whole or in part, directly or indirectly relating to this contest, whether caused by the negligence of the contestants, or otherwise.

b. Payments of all federal, state and local taxes are solely the responsibility of the winners.  Winners may be required to sign an IRS Form W-9 or the equivalent.

c. By participating in the contest, the winner or winners agree to have their name, voice, or likeness used in any advertising or broadcasting material relating to this contest without additional financial or other compensation, and, where legal, to sign a publicity release confirming such consent prior to acceptance of the prize. 

d. Prior to awarding any prize or prize certificate, the Station in its sole discretion may require contest winners (and their travel companions, if any) to sign a liability release, agreeing to hold the Station, its corporate licensee, its parent, subsidiary and affiliated corporations, and the officers, shareholders, directors, employees, agents and representatives of each of them harmless against any and all claims or liability arising directly or indirectly from the prize or participation in the contest.

e. The Station reserves the right to make changes in the rules of the contest, including the substitution of a prize or equivalent value, which will become effective upon announcement. If due to circumstances beyond the control of the Station, any competition or prize-related event is delayed, rescheduled, postponed or cancelled, the Station reserves the right, but not the obligation, to cancel or modify the contest and shall not be required to award a substitute prize.

f. Failure to comply with the contest rules may result in a contestant’s disqualification solely at the discretion of the Station.

g. The Station is not responsible for typographical or other errors in the printing, the offering or the administration of the contest, or in the announcement of a prize.

h. Copies of the written contest rules and a list of winners (when complete) are available during regular business hours at the main studio of KZZO, 280 Commerce Circle, Sacramento, CA, 95815.
